Als Schriftsteller beschäftige ich mich mit Wörtern. Je mehr Charaktere und Schauplätze sich von selbst entwickeln, um so wertvoller sind sie für künstlerische Vorhaben. Wenn ich lesen und nicht schreiben würde, ich wäre im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes aus meinem Körper herausgetreten und inmitten meiner Schauplätze und Charaktere, wie jener Maler, der sich dreimal verneigte und in seinem Bild verschwand. Eine grundlegende Veränderung im Bewußtsein ist notwendig. Flickwerk wird da nicht helfen. Niemand, der in seinem Körper hockt, ist ohne Ego. Was ist die Natur dieses drastischen Schritts ins Unbekannte? Wie Korzybski sagte, »Ich weiß es nicht. Sehen wir es uns an.« Dies ist das Raumzeitalter. Der Weltraum ist eine gefährliche und nicht kartographierte Zone. Es ist notwendig zu reisen. Es ist nicht notwendig zu leben.

As a writer I deal with words. The more characters and sets develop on their own, the more valid they are for artistic purposes. If I was reading and not writing I would literally be out of my body and into my sets and characters, like the painter who bowed three times and disappeared into his painting. A basic mutation in consciousness is necessary. No patchwork will do the job. Nobody sitting in his body is egoless. What is the nature of this drastic step into the unknown? As Korzybski said, "I don't know. Let's see." This is the Space Age. Space is a dangerous and unmapped area. It is necessary to travel. It is not necessary to live.
